DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY

The Luan stands out with its open-back design, marrying lightly tan materials with a sleek aluminum frame for a striking contrast. It boasts a cutting-edge 50mm Nickel Coated Composite Carbon Diaphragm Dynamic Driver, carefully nestled within handmade wooden ear cups, accentuated by a sleek CNC machined metallic bracket design.

The headband’s exterior boasts a luxurious leather finish, complete with branding for added elegance. Plus, the 3.5mm dual entry system is adorned with gold-plated contact rings for a touch of opulence.

Sivga Luan

Sivga offers two captivating color options: Brown and Black. While both are appealing, the Black variant exudes an extra dose of style and luxury, making it our top choice.

COMFORT

The comfort level of the Luan is seriously impressive, folks. With its plush padding, gentle clamping force, and feather-light weight of just 354g, the SIVGA Luan is perfect for those marathon listening sessions. What’s more, the earpads are very soft, and the conical earpads cater to various ear shapes without sacrificing the compactness of the earcup design. It’s truly a stroke of genius, and I’m amazed at how there’s no discomfort whatsoever.

Sivga Luan

The design of the Sivga Luan is intriguing, to say the least, and it really delivers in terms of comfort. In fact, it’s safe to say that it’s one of the most comfortable headphones we’ve ever tried.

STOCK CABLE

The SIVGA Luan arrives with a detachable 3.5mm cable in sleek black, boasting fabric isolation and extending approximately 160cm in length. What we don’t like is that the cable is a little stiff, which can cause some discomfort. Although there’s no balanced option included, Sivga offers a balanced cable separately. However, with an impedance of 38Ω, the Luan is quite efficient and can be powered adequately by most smartphones using standard 3.5mm cables to achieve optimal volume. This headphone doesn’t demand much power to deliver its impressive sound.

In this situation, we appreciate Sivga for including 4.4mm cable, and you also have the option to purchase them separately for $20. However, it’s worth noting that the cable quality is the same as stock cable, only the plug is different.

PAIRING

The Luan harmonizes beautifully with our latest Fiio Q15. It truly shines when paired with sources boasting a mildly warm tonality, providing a smoother upper midrange and lower treble for a delightful listening experience.

When paired with the Pegasus SG1, the Luan brings forth exquisite notes, showcasing its impressive synergy. Its versatility allows it to complement nearly any audio source with finesse.

SOUND

The sound of the Luan is engaging, offering a delightful balance of warmth and neutrality. It’s a fun listening experience with a signature that leans towards the warmer side while maintaining a neutral-ish sound profile.

The Luan reproduces instruments and vocals with a fairly realistic timbre, while its tonality leans slightly warmer than neutral. There’s a luxurious, cozy quality to these headphones that remains rich with naturalism.

BASS

The Luan isn’t geared towards bass-heads, it has a slight roll-off in the sub-bass area. While the bass quantity is moderate, its quality is commendable. The mid-bass region steals the spotlight, sounding more emphasized compared to the sub-bass, which impresses with its tightness and clarity. Overall, Luan’s bass maintains a musical allure, offering a satisfying level of body, richness, and impact without veering into overly analytical territory.

MIDRANGE

The standout feature of the Luan is its mesmerizing midrange. It’s characterized by outstanding clarity and openness, with a mostly natural sound that’s gently warmed by the bass. This balanced blend isn’t just about the sound itself, it also affects how the different elements come together in the music, creating an overall vibrant and forward yet neutral experience.

In its midrange, the SIVGA Luan delivers a lively, impressively clear, and airy sound that truly stands out, especially considering its price range.

HIGHS

In the treble department, the Luan maintains a neutral tuning, delivering crisp highs with a pleasing texture that brings out exceptional detail and resolution. The timbre strikes a perfect balance, neither too thin nor too thick, resulting in a natural and smooth treble presentation overall. It’s detailed and textured, leaning slightly towards a brighter tone, but still maintaining a smooth and enjoyable listening experience.

STAGING & IMAGING

The Luan presents a soundstage performance that’s decent, while the width and depth are satisfactory, we’d hope for a bit more. However, the precise imaging showcases the Luan’s impressive dimensionality. Its sound signature creates a spacious and airy feel. The stereo imaging is mostly accurate and clear, with particularly impressive transparency in the mid-range. Notably, the instruments are cleanly layered, and the separation between them is fantastic.

CONCLUSION

We’re truly impressed by the overall quality and performance of the Sivga Luan. It delivers a beautifully balanced sound signature that’s almost neutral, accompanied by impressive technical performance. Not to mention, the Luan is absolutely stunning, crafted from the finest materials and exuding a luxurious feel. Its ear pads are incredibly comfortable, making it perfect for extended listening sessions. In fact, we dare say it’s one of the most comfortable headphones we’ve ever experienced. What’s even more remarkable is its budget-friendly price tag. If you’re in the market for a high-quality open-back headphone, the Luan comes highly recommended at this price point!
