Topping rebuilds the DX1 as the $119 DX1 II, with a balanced output and PEQ
A ground-up revision at $119: an ES9039Q2M converter, a four-channel amplifier stage, a 4.4 mm balanced output, optical I/O, a microphone input and a 10-band parametric EQ.

Topping has released the DX1 II at $119 / £119 / €119, a redesign rather than a refresh of the DX1. It uses an ES9039Q2M converter into a four-channel amplifier stage, quoted at 2 x 1,000 mW into 32 and 64 ohms and 2 x 230 mW into 300 ohms, with 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm outputs, USB-C and optical inputs, line outputs, a microphone input for gaming headsets, console support and a 10-band parametric EQ.
230 mW into 300 ohms from a $119 box is the specification worth pausing on, because it is the load that historically forced buyers into a desktop amplifier. Topping's numbers have also been independently measured for years, which is the useful part: this is a product that will be checked against a public baseline within weeks rather than taken on trust.

FiiO swaps the R7's delta-sigma converter for a resistor ladder in the R7 R2R
The all-in-one desktop streamer, DAC, preamplifier and headphone amplifier returns with FiiO's own R2R converter in place of the ES9068AS, at around $700.

Fosi Audio shows the ZH1, a dual-CS43131 desktop DAC for around £130
Shown at CanJam London ahead of a September release, the ZH1 puts two Cirrus Logic converters and more than a watt of output in a hexagonal chassis, for roughly £130.

FiiO teases the K17 R2R Pro, a resistor-ladder DAC and amp with Wi-Fi
Coming mid-2026, the K17 R2R Pro uses a proprietary resistor-ladder architecture in place of a conventional delta-sigma chip, with global pricing announced in June.

This is an announcement, not a verdict. Specifications come from the manufacturer and nothing here is measured until a unit reaches the rig. For tested dacs, see DACs reviews. Back to all new releases.
