Luxsin shows the B9, an R2R desktop amplifier with per-headphone EQ profiles

Shown at CanJam London as an engineering sample, the B9 pairs a discrete R2R DAC with six watts of headphone output and a stored correction profile per headphone, at around $1,500.

Luxsin showed the B9 at CanJam London 2026 as an engineering sample: a desktop DAC, headphone amplifier and preamplifier built on the company's own discrete resistor-ladder converter, expected to deliver around six watts of headphone output at roughly $1,500. The prototype carried an HP-EQ system that stores a correction profile per headphone, editable by the listener, plus a hearing-compensation function.

Correction profiles built into the amplifier are the interesting part, because they only work if someone measured the headphone the profile is named after, and the value of the feature rests entirely on whose measurements those are and how they were taken. Hearing compensation is a different proposition again: it deliberately moves the response away from neutral for one listener, which is defensible but should never be confused with a correction.

This is an announcement, not a verdict. Specifications come from the manufacturer and nothing here is measured until a unit reaches the rig. For tested solid amps, see Solid AMPs reviews. Back to all new releases.
